Zim to travel trans-Atlantic, Asia-Europe Awards

  • Ocean carrier Zim said it will raise rates in coming weeks on westbound shipments from Europe to the United States as well as westbound shipments from Asia to Europe.

    On Dec. 1, the line will hike Asia-to-Europe rates by $200 per 20-foot container. The increase applies to destinations in northern Europe, the West and East Mediterranean and the Black Sea.

    On Dec. 10, Zim will raise rates from Italy to the United States by $250 per 20-foot container and $350 per 40-foot container.

    On Jan. 1, rates from Spain to the United States will also climb $250 per 20-foot container and $350 per 40-foot container. On the same date, rates from northern Europe to the United States will increase by $375 per 20-foot container and $475 per 40-foot container.
