Throughput of Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port is the 2.4-fold to 1.42 million tonnes Januar-Aug 09

  • In January-August 2009, Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port OJSC handled 1.423.3 million tonnes of cargo (down almost 2.4 times, year-on-year), the company informs. In August the company handled 143,800 tonnes of cargo (down almost 2.6 times, year-on-year).

    In January-August 2009, transshipment of import cargo amounted to
    336,100 tonnes (down 2.4 times), export – 1.057.2 million tonnes (down
    2.36 times). The growth was registered only in the segment of liquid
    bulk cargo and ferrous metal: 255,600 tonnes (+29%) and 5,500 tonnes
    respectively.

    Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port JSC is the largest enterprise of
    regional port complex. Practically all means of transport and the basic
    part of the export-import freight traffic passing through the territory
    of region, close in the port. Major shareholders of Kaliningrad Sea
    Commercial Port are Dork LLC (49%) and Gas-Oil CJSC (12%). In 2008, the
    company handled 4.763 million tonnes of cargo.
