Number of calls in Big Ship Port of St. Petersburg increased by 27% – up to 21.619 in 2009

In recent year the number of ships calls at the Big Port of St. Petersburg declined by 27 percent, compared with that of 2008, to 21.619 vessels.
According to statistical information by the Port Authority, in 2009
there were 10.786 ships calls at the port and the number of exits was
at 10.833 ships.As a reminder, volumes of freight traffics through the Big Port of St.
Petersburg had been reported at 50.4 million tons in 2009, a
year-over-year 16 percent decline, while the volume of containers
