FCT Throughput of St. Petersburg to 20.7% – to 76.403 TEU in January this year

  • Freight turnover at the First Container Terminal (FCT, St. Petersburg) in January 2010 increased by 20.7% compared with January last year, up to 76.403 TEUs. According to the press service of National Container Company (managed by FCT),

    this January, its terminals transshipped 37.392 TEUs of outbound
    commodities and 39.11 TEUs of unloaded import cargoes. Refrigerated
    containers turnover rose to 8.802 TEUs (a 53.8% rebound over January
    2009). Overall, 62 of different ships were handled at the port’s
    wharves, the average turnover per vessel – 1.232 TEUs.

    National Container Company (NCC) is Russia’s largest operator of
    container terminals, leading in the market of stevedoring services. The
    owners of the NCC in equal parts are of First Quantum and the Transport
    Group FESCO. The NCC Terminal’s containers turnover in 2009 totaled
    about 1.2 million TEUs. NCC’s portfolio of assets includes First
    Container Terminal (FCT, St. Petersburg), NNFE Container Terminal
    (Novorossiysk), container terminal UKRTRANSCONTAINER “(Ilyichevsk,
    Odessa region, Ukraine), Ust-Luga Container Terminal (Leningrad region)
    and Logistics-Terminal (Shushary, St. Petersburg).
