Famous Pacific Shipping (NZ) Ltd in Auckland has appointed George Dobovanszky as business development manager with a focus on the development of the freight forwarder’s cargo volumes in the US – New Zealand trade.
At the same time, the company has formed a joint venture with Royale
International Couriers, one of the largest independent express
companies in Asia, enabling the latter to establish a presence in New
Zealand at a new office in Auckland.Marcus Goldsworthy, Famous Pacific Shipping (NZ) Ltd’s managing
director, will oversee the operation of the Auckland office. He will
also be responsible for fostering existing business relationships and
driving new express and courier services in the New Zealand market.
There are business synergies between the two companies from which the
new joint venture will profit.As business development manager, Mr Dobovanszky brings extensive route
management experience and significant knowledge of the US – NZ trade.
He is in a strong position to assist FPS NZ to further develop a
valuable range of cost effective shipping options to and from the USA
for New Zealand’s importers and exporters.Over a 20 year career, Mr Dobovanszky has worked for some notable
brands including Harper Robinson / Circle International, Fesco,
Australia-New Zealand Direct Line (ANZDL), as well as Norton Lilly
International gaining significant experience of import customer
services, logistics, export customer services and commodity shipping.Mr Goldsworthy says: “The appointment of an executive with priceless US
freight activity experience will boost our services and presence in an
