EU steel scrap export price at first inclined since early September

  • As Turkey steel mills return back market to purchase, EU scrap steel export price firstly increased since early September. The export price of EU No.1 and No.2 mixed heavy scrap (80:20) boosted from U.S.$224-230 per ton to U.S.$235-240 per ton.

    It is learned that Turkey buyers imported 30,000-40,000 tons of No.1
    and No.2 heavy scrap (80:20) from Holland shipped via deep sea with
    U.S.$278 per ton (CFR), which is equivalent to U.S.$250 per ton (FOB,
    Rotterdam) and imported a ship of No.1 and No.2 mixed heavy scrap
    (70:30) from Belgium via deep sea with U.S.$265 per ton, equal to
    U.S.$237 per ton (FOB, Rotterdam).? ?Presently EU suppliers are trying
    to improve export price of scrap steel. It is estimated that the price
    may hike further.
