Sinopec: Nearly 90 million tons of crude oil in 2009, transported by pipeline

Some 89.31 million tonnes of crude o il, about half of the company’s 180 million tonnes of crude oil throug hput, was transported via its pipelines across the country in 2009, Si nopec Group, China’s largest oil refiner, said on Thursday.
The China Petrochemical Newspaper, a Sinopec-run (NYSE:SNP) newspaper,
repo rted that the company has 37 major oil pipelines in 13 provinces
acros s China with a total length of 6063.5 kilometers and oil storage
capac ity of 24.55 million cubic meters.According to the report, the Sinopec Group’s five major oilfield s,
including Shengli oilfield and Zhongyuan oilfield, have been hookedup to the company’s pipeline network. Crude oil output from these oil
fields could be directly transported to nearby Sinopec refineries.The Sinopec Pipeline Corp. is the major operator of the Sinopec Group’s
pipeline businesses. It is now engaged in pipeline project des ign,
construction, management and service matters.The Sinopec Group is the parent company of the China Petroleum &
Chemical Corporation (Sinopec, SNP.NYSE; 600028.SH).

Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical Co Ltd, which is the largest ethylene producer in China and a subsidiary of Sinopec Group, plans to refine more than 10 million tons of crude oil in 2010 or 200,800 barrels per day, said Sinopec Group in a statement on Friday.
