China’s crude steel output hit a record high of about 51.65 million tonnes in August, a source familiar with data from the China Iron & Steel Association (CISA) said on Wednesday.

Steel output in July, according to figures from the National Bureau of
Statistics which may not be precisely comparable to CISA’s data, was
50.676 million tonnes.
